Mrs. Turinske took several middle school band students to Shell Lake last week for a great experience. Pictured with Mrs. Turinske are Richard Hailey, Addison Sather, Charles Marshall, Jack Matthias, Aubrey Wiermaa and Saige Meyer. They spent Thursday at the Shell Lake Arts Center for Middle School Honor Band. They worked with over 200 students from over 20 different schools across Wisconsin and Minnesota and put on a concert after only six hours of practice. These students performed well and represented Northwood spectacularly. Northwood School and its Music Department want to thank the Northwood Education Foundation for covering the expenses for this event and their continual support of the music programming at our school.

Just a reminder that the Northwood School District will be holding their annual Veterans Day Program on Tuesday, November 11th at 10:00 AM in the Richards Auditorium. This will be a time to honor all who served. The event is open to the public and will be live streamed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkM4AA6JRQk.

Starting Wednesday, November 12th, the Northwood Honor Society will be hosting a Penny War. A penny war is where pennies (copper coins) count positively to a class's / group's tally and silver coins or green bills count negatively towards the tally. So if a group has 25 pennies and then someone puts in a quarter, their tally would be zero. This year, the winning groups will get donuts! One for PK-5th grade students, one in the middle school including NorthStar, and one with 9th-12th grade. All funds will go to our local food shelves to help our communities' families undergoing hardships. The money will be collected in the library. The last day for collecting funds will be Thursday, November 20th.

And a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, November 7th. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center is OPEN for their regular hours, however.

Congratulations to our fall athletes and their accomplishments this past season. Here is a video highlighting their awards: https://aptg.co/hLN62d.

A reminder about these events happening this week:
November 6th & 7th - Parent / Teacher Conferences
November 7th - No School for Students. Tiny Seeds Learning Center is open for their regular hours.
