Last week, NorthStar traveled to Hartley Nature Center in Duluth! Hartley Nature Center is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to environmental education for all ages. There NorthStar students learned about specialized owl adaptations, and they even dissected owl pellets! Later in the day, they learned about winter survival by building shelters and fires. Here are few images from the field study!

This is the first time a Northwood/Solon Springs football player was named to the all-state team much less to be named the Player of the Year. Tremendous accomplishments to say the least. Jared finished his career with impressive statistics. Over his four years playing for Northwood/Solon Springs he passed for 4,335 yards and 58 touchdowns, ran for 5,037 yards and 80 touchdowns, received for 591 and 6 touchdowns. Jared also scored 7 special teams touchdowns during his career. Defensively, Jared finished his career with 415 total tackles, 16 interceptions, and 8 forced fumbles. He also scored two defensive touchdowns. Jared ended his career with a total of 9,963 combined yards passing, rushing, and receiving. He also scored an unbelievable 153 total touchdowns!
