Best Wishes to Mr. Audorff as he begins his new journey at the Northwood Technical College next week. Many of the students and staff provided a very heartfelt send off today with cards, treats, and cake. Thanks goes out to Mr. Audorff for spending the extra time these past weeks with Mr. Bub Visger preparing him for Interim Dean of Students for the remained of the school year. Thank you Mr. Audorff and we all wish you well as you go from one Northwood family to another. We'll miss you but know you'll stay in contact and always hold a special place in your heart for our wonderful students, staff, and communities.

Families with students in grades 3-11 will be receiving information in the mail regarding all spring testing dates. Please look at that information closely to try and make every effort to get the students here on those dates. One of the more important dates is March 26th, when all 9th - 11th grade students will be taking the ACT & PreACT. Sign-ups have started for the Minong Area Youth Baseball & Softball group for children in 4K through 8th grade. Information is being sent home today with students. For more information, check out their flyer.

Another reminder about Project Prom Dress! Help local youth attend their prom. Donate your clean, gently used dresses to help young ladies in the area have a night to remember. Give that dress another night to shine! Items being sought for the event are: prom dresses, party dresses, evening gowns, jewelry, shoes, purses & clutches. Collecting New & Gently Used items by this Friday, February 23, 2024. (See flyer for drop-off locations.) NorthStar 8th graders spent some time last week passing down the knowledge and tradition of tapping maple trees in the school forest.

Just a reminder that Wednesday, February 14th there will be another Hats for Helping Day at Northwood School. The donations raised will be given to Washburn County Humane Society. Any student or staff who brings in $1.00, can wear a hat (which is against our dress code) or fun headband for the day. Those wanting to participate can come to the library in the morning with their donation to get a sticker from the Honor Society members.

Earlier this week, Mr. Nichols took some of his Tech Ed students on a field trip to Superior. They toured Genesis Attachments, Epicurean Factory, and Northwood Technical College in Superior, WI. Genesis makes very large destruction and recycling implements for construction companies. Epicurean makes many different kitchen items, but primarily cutting boards. And at Northwood Tech the students toured all of the programs offered through their various programs.
