Due to the weather days Northwood School District has had this school year, a plan has been put into place to make up instructional minutes per requirements from the state. This is being put into effect to keep the last day of school on the same date.
Starting March 24th, the school day will run from 8:05 AM - 3:30 PM. April 21st will now be a regular school day. And the last day of school, May 30th, will now have a early release time of 1:15 PM. If we should have any further late starts or cancellations, the district will notify families. If you have any further questions, please contact the District Office.

Another reminder that Northwood School District's spring break is coming up. The dates are March 17th through March 21st. The Tiny Seeds Learning Center will be open their normal hours. The District Office will be open Monday - Thursday from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM that week.

Two NorthStar students competed at state for the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Speaking contest on Wednesday, March 5th in Green Bay! Sydney and Josie previously competed at both the county and regional levels to earn their spots at the state level. While in Green Bay, the girls competed against other speakers from across the state with topics that promote conservation efforts in Wisconsin. Both students did an amazing job, and Sydney placed third in her age division! We are so proud of our NorthStar students!

There is still time to open enroll your child today! Applications may be submitted to up to three nonresident school districts if the pupil wishes to attend a brick and mortar school. For more information about open enrollment, either check out DPI's brochure explaining Wisconsin's open enrollment policies at: https://dpi.wi.gov/oe or contact the Northwood District Office for more information about our district's offerings.

Athletic Event Update - Due to the impending weather, tonight's Varsity Boys Basketball Regional Playoff Game at Webster has been moved up to a 6:00 PM start time. A reminder that admission is $6.00 for the event, too, due to it being a Regional Playoff Game.

Our Child Development Class at Northwood School had an amazing opportunity to team up with Sage from Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary to learn how to recognize and respond to various first aid emergencies. Over eight 45-minute sessions, students practiced CPR on infant and youth manikins, learned how to assist someone who is choking, and became proficient in using the AED. They also gained valuable skills in administering First Aid.
At the conclusion of the program, each student took a 40-question test and needed to earn at least 80% to pass. Congratulations to these students for earning their Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification. It was truly a fantastic experience!
