The Northwood School District Board of Education recognizes Julie Denham for her many years of service on the school board and dedication to the district throughout her term. In honor of the fallen officers from Chetek & Cameron recently, Northwood is going to hold a Hats for Helping Day on Friday, April 14th. The money collected will be going to the two officers' families. Donations can be brought to the library in the morning for those who want to participate. Also, staff and student can show support more than a hat and a donation by wearing blue like several other schools are doing in our area. The wearing blue will not require a donation, but will show that Northwood is thinking of the families.
Mark your calendars! The Northwood High School Prom will be Saturday, April 22nd at Heartwood Resort. Grand March starts at 7:00 PM. Coronation is at 7:30 PM. All students in attendance must stay until 9:00 PM.
Northwood Families and Friends,
Based on inquiries, feedback and the perceived need for our communities, the Northwood School District has been looking into the idea of creating an early learning center for infants and toddlers within our current building. There are many areas in the north woods of Wisconsin that are referred to as the “daycare desert” due to the fact there are few group child care centers. We have already connected with some key members in our community and we are also exploring potential partnerships with our local businesses including Jack Link’s plant, which is our largest employer in the District.
To learn more about this venture, please attend one of the two scheduled informational and listening sessions. One of these sessions will be held at Jack Link’s Aquatic and Activity Center on Saturday, April 15th from 10:00am til noon and the other on Monday, April 17th from 5:30pm til 7:30pm in the commons at the school district. We want to hear your input and look forward to seeing you at one of the sessions. If you’re unable to attend one of the listening sessions, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Kelly at scot_kelly@northwoodk12wi.com for questions.

Today, March 28th, 8th - 11th grade Northwood students took part in C.O.D.E. Day. C.O.D.E. stands for Course Options Discovery & Exploration. This was a time for the students to listen to presentations from the teachers for possible course choices available as they are getting ready to register for classes for next year. These displays will be up for parents to see this Thursday, March 30th at the Family & Community Night / Student-Led Conferences from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM. There will also be a free meal sponsored by the NEF. We hope to see lots of parents and community members there.
Students made pies, ate pies and did some math on Pi Day. One pie was extra special....three of our students made the crust from scratch -- their first pie crust EVER! That pie got rave reviews.
