Healthy WashCo Presents RISE TOGETHER Youth Educational Program
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Our school district, along with Spooner and Shell Lake, will participate in the RISE TOGETHER programming, which is brought to you in partnership with Healthy WashCo. RISE TOGETHER will be presenting to middle and high school students at Northwood School on Tuesday, October 22nd.
In this powerful and dynamic presentation, the team of national advocates will help our community ignite a conversation focusing on preventing substance use and promoting positive mental health.
The goal is to inspire through storytelling, creating hope and igniting motivation for change. Ultimately, breaking the silence and getting a life-saving conversation started, conversations that can prevent the onset of substance use and support overall personal health and wellness. By working together with this team, we will:
• IDENTIFY youth’s strengths, passions, and opportunities.
• PROVIDE resources and education through interactive storytelling.
• INSPIRE youth to support their peers.
• MOTIVATE others to take action and live a healthier lifestyle.
Your active participation in this program is crucial. On Tuesday, October 22nd, we invite parents and community members to their community educational presentation at 6 pm in the Washburn County Board Room at 304 2nd St in Shell Lake. By coming together and breaking the silence, we can take steps to significantly prevent or reduce risk factors facing our youth. In addition to building knowledge, sources of support and information on local resources will be available.
Since 2013, the RISE TOGETHER 501c3 non-profit has aimed to decrease youth substance use and increase positive mental wellness by educating, engaging, and encouraging youth to use their voices for change, breaking the silence around substance use and mental health.
