SNOW DAY - February 13, 2013

Northwood School’s Fuel Up to Play 60 Smoothie Station
A fun part of SNOW DAY Activities

Fuel Up to Play 60 Smoothie Station was a big hit with students & staff during Snow Week. We offered 8 different kinds of smoothies, 4 healthy “green” smoothies & 4 fruit ones. The station was set up to be self serving with some students making their own smoothie for the very first time. The recipe below is the crowd favorite; maybe you would like to make it at home as well!

Raspberry Cream Smoothie
1 cup orange juice
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 banana
1 cup raspberries
½ cup ice
Blend together in a blender, makes about 4 cups.

And if you are curious as to what a “green” smoothie is, here is a recipe you can try:

Green Julius Smoothie
¾ cup orange juice
1cup frozen mango
1 handful parsley
1 handful spinach
1 banana
1 cup ice
Honey or sugar to taste
Be sure to start with only the orange juice & spinach ingredients so that the blender can blend this together very smooth then add the parsley. When that is smooth add your other ingredients one at a time until blended smooth.
ENJOY!
